A Sow's Ear to a Silk Purse
Purchased a damaged HO gauge tank car with the intent to repair and improve upon the original model to make a unique addition to my collection. It is in the que along with a dozen or so other projects. What was I THINKING!!

Excellent basic HO train car needing upgrades.
This HO gauge livestock car is a basic consumer level "train-set" car in excellent condition. It was purchased with the intent to upgrade the detail and functionality to a model railroad hobby level. The car is nicely cast and the lettering is precise and clear. The doors, however, are cast shut and non-functional, and the trucks and couplers, although functional, will be replaced with prototypical equipment. As a toy train car to run around the Christmas tree or playroom oval, it's fine. As a serious railroad model, it falls short.
