Intermountain N Gauge passenger car
Pros:
Crisp & sharp lettering.
Correct paint colors
Micro Trains trucks & couplers (nice)
Compatible with Kato rolling stock
Cons:
Expensive with a higher than average MSRP.
A poor quality cardboard box was provided for the model instead of the usual (and much superior) industry standard plastic jewel case. Worse, it's a different size (longer than necessary) so I can't even drop the inner packaging into a spare jewel case. When you own dozens of these models, dealing with substandard packaging on a new purchase is quite annoying. I understand inflation but cutting quality is seen as a betrayal by customers. N Gauge modelers are notoriously tight on space and we notice when manufacturers abuse it.

Aftermarket Product
The "tires" are simply silicone rubber tubing sliced off to the proper width so the edges are not rounded. However, they fit my cars and function just fine. It's much too early to ask about durability. The tires they replaced dried out in the desert heat. No complaints so far.

Walthers Passenger Cars
I own dozens of them. Our modular group does public shows and reliability is paramount. Good looking and good rollers, Walther's sets the standard, especially with passenger cars. On the con side, high price. Nice if you can afford them. Also the plastic couplers should be upgraded to "Kadee" metal versions.
