A lovely lens, ideal for my camera.
It's too soon to be more specific re: the question boxes above, but the lens is what one would expect, and it comes with a proper bayonet hood. Small, light weight, feels good, and very little wide angle distortion in the edges and corners. Focuses to under 8 inches. Used on a Panasonic GX80. Just used it on a holiday - 492 photos in 7 days, only a small percentage of duds, mainly due to the 1/180 sec flash sync. Nice focal length between 28 & 35mm equiv. So far I love it.
The AF/MF switch will be useful as an instant focus lock. I like the aperture ring, and prefer its half-stop clicks, though they could be a little stiffer (same can be said for the camera's mode dial).

Good value, decent quality in a 2x AA bounce flash for use on an LX3
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Bought to fit an LX3. I wanted a 2xAA flash with enough power to bounce off low ceilings and this is exactly perfect. The LX3 controls the output (TTL). I've always had good quality from Metz, and you used to pay over the odds for it. The 24AF-1 is lighter than it looks (i.e. feels a trifle flimsy), but the Panasonic equivalent costs over twice as much and doesn't do bounce, and bounce flash is the only way to go indoors, making this Metz well worth the price.
There is no wide angle diffuser and it doesn't zoom; its 35mm coverage is perfect, however, when bounced using the LX3's wide angle.
The plastic locking grip doesn't feel as though it will last forever - so try not to squeeze it too hard.
I am still on the original batteries, so cannot comment there other than to say it's far better to drain separate AAs than the camera's rechargeable.
Docked 1 star because there's no pouch for it.

Very similar to Speck CandyShell
A wise choice for anyone looking for a tough, hard plastic shell with a ribbed man-made rubber lining extending beyond the glass face to form a table-top bezel, which prevents inadvertent sliding when put face down. On-line reviewers point to the rubber across the top of the charging socket and complain that it stretches when you pull on it. The Speck has a solid plastic bridge here to support the rubber, but it can be a tight squeeze for older iPhone charging plugs. My wife's Apollo is easier on the plugs, and if you don't physically stretch it, it won't get stretched. It's a snug fit on the phone, and the sintered surface finish feels better in the hand than the slippery smooth CandyShell. Both have plenty of clearance around the "flash." It is slimmer than the CandyShell; the rubbery layer and plastic may be thinner; the rubber bezel is slightly smaller. The sleep button is slightly stiffer than the one on the Speck. The single rubber rocker button over the phone's volume buttons feels almost identical in use to the feel of the Speck's separate buttons.
