Solid performer high quality build - old but still has some great features
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This is a high quality receiver "Made in Japan". It produces an adequate amount of power for most people though I may add on an external amp at some point as this is be possible with the included pre-amp output connections though there are no provisions for rear channel pre-amp outputs so you'll have to use the built in power for your rear channels. The speaker connectors are heavy duty binding post connectors including bi-amping connections for the front and center cannels as well. I haven't tested it a high volume levels but it sounds nice and full and moderate to normal listening volumes. I do appreciate the the bass and treble knobs being handy and I prefer them much over button controls or those that make you use a single knob with multiple uses.
There are two things that took me by surprise. You actually need to hook up a TV monitor and you'll also need the remote to set up the initial settings. I'm using this unit full range with a pair of large Polk Tower speakers in stereo without a subwoofer. Therefore I'm not using the home theater features at all but I still had to use the initial set up to set up my speaker type and set the subwoofer to off. It's basically impossible to due without the remote and without a tv screen connected, but once you do that it's pretty easy to configure your settings. Warning the video menu was super basic black and white and I guess that it shows it's age but I'll put up with that any day inorder to enjoy the quality sound from a made in Japan amplifier. Dispite its outdated design it does still have on toslink fiber-optics connection as well as a coaxial digital input to connect directly to your CD or DVD player, however you may choose the analog output since your current DVD player or CD player may have a better built in DA Converter to this receiver. Oh yea the second weird thing is that the RF connector for the antenna on the rear was a smooth push on so you'll have to order a threaded to push on adapter from you local electronics supply. Other than all that it's a real solid performer.

Easy install
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Well it was kind of an easy install. The main problem was the tight quarters of my sports car it was hard to get into a good place to make chassis ground connection. That of course was no fault of the device. Works great I set the voltage cut off at 12.5 volts. and the timer for 48 hours since I use a 128GB SD card. For those wondering, you can connect the constant to ignition start fuse terminal in most cars. It provides a constant 12 v output. I would highly recommend using two add a fuse wiring kits. One for the constant and the other for the acc setting. Most items on the fuse box are going to only provide power when the key is turned on so finding an acc is easy. Of course don't mess with air bag terminals or anything critical.
