It's really nice stuff
I just done my chips in this stuff, and let me tell you, it's brilliant. Very tasty chips indeed. Also nice drizzled over a crispy leaf salad with garlic.

Carafax IDL 99 to seat/seal motorhome window
I purchased this after reading advice on online forums stating that it would be good as a non-hardening window frame seating product, allowing movement so that the seal wouldn't dry out and break like silicone does. I took out my window and removed the perished rubber seal and thoroughly cleaned both the window and van faces with brake cleaner and applied this to the window frame. Approx a 12mm wide bead x 8mm deep was used. I seaded the window, tightened in and removed the surplus that squelched out. I was happy at this stage. The seal survived 1200 miles in stormy weather. The next storm, my window leaked like a waterfall. I was bewildered. Upon investigation. The mastic had separated. It just didn't seem firm enough to hold together. I had to start again. I couldn't find a match for my original rubber gasket from the outset. I ended up using Butyl tape, also known as window glazing flexistrip. This stuff is the nuts. It's firm and pliable, like a roll of liquorice. It is brilliant, neat and the excess trims off just lovely. Thus will not leak. Do not use polyurethane sealer as this is used for bonding windscreens. If you didn't use this correctly, you'd never get the window back out in one piece without damaging it.
