JM Labs tweeter repair
The parts arrived in good time and excellent condition.
I assembled them as per the instructions and per a related YouTube video.
The surrounds that connect the inverted dome cones to the plastic plate are not foam so they should last a long time compared to foam.
The diameter of the inverted dome marches the inset size on the mounting plate, where as the old inverted domes I was replacing had a smaller diameter just overlapping the foam.
The sound is very bright and crisp, but doesn’t seem to extend as low in frequency as the inverted domes with foam. I’m guessing the traveling distance of the voice coil is limited by the stiffer surrounds.
Still very happy to have my speakers up and playing again. I definitely recommend this purchase if your tweeters need repair.
