Useful and effective
I needed an additional line post in a lawn and didn't want to dig a hole and concrete in a permanent socket. This ground spike proved an ideal solution. My soil is fairly stoney but the spike, once the thread is engaged, cuts through the ground with relative ease. It is also easy to remove for when I mow the lawn. The only note of caution is that too much force in one direction (for example, a heavily loaded washing line on one side) can bend the spike at the weld between the cone and rod. Screwing in the spike as far as it will go, giving plenty of support to the upper section, is advised.
