Wahl Professional 5-Star Full Head Balding Clipper, #785110 UPC, 043917811000

Beautiful, powerful, simple!
I purchased a pair of Wahl hair clippers because all barber shops were closed. Before using my new clippers, I was trolling on ebay and found these clippers called Wahl "Balding Clippers." Curious, I purchased a pair and just recently my wife used them to cut my hair. It was easy and she cut my hair almost as well as my barber. What a great idea! Thank you, Wahl. I'm a fan!

Ben Hogan Edge CFT Hybrids--The Hybrids for Most of Us.
I love long irons because they require you to practice and use excellent technique. For several years, I regularly kept a 2-iron in my bag. At that time, I had a 7 handicap at my club and I could hit a 1-iron about 260 yards. However, times have changed. I don't own a 1-iron, or 2-iron anymore. Even when it comes to a 3-iron, or 4-iron, if you aren't practicing and playing regularly, it is difficult to be a good ball striker with your long irons. During one particular round of golf, one of my partners asked me if I had ever struck a hybrid. When I responded negatively, he offered me his new Cleveland Hi-Bore hybrid. I struck the ball and was simply in awe of the ease of ball striking as the ball rocketed down the fairway. I immediately went to the club review issues and began comparing hybrids. When I saw Hogan hybrids were the best hybrids recommended for the mere mortals in the golf existence, I decided to try them. Unlike some hybrids, the Hogan hybrids bring confidence and a measure of forgiveness. They are easier to hit than long irons and the ball flight is mid to low trajectory with steel shafts. You get a nice "click" noise on good contact and lots of distance. The Apex shafts seem to be exactly the flex on the labels. The Hogan Apex graphite shafts seem to keep the ball flight straight like steel, although the trajectory seems mid to high. They are easy to hit from rough and easier to use for punch shots from bad lies than long irons. They work better for chip shots, too. Oh, if you happen to make poor contact, you get a "thud" and a little sting to remind you you have done a bad thing. Hogan hybrids are nice looking clubs at address. The finish produces almost no glare at address. On the other hand, the painted soles are a bad idea. The blue portion looks dull after regular use. The red paint wears off. The headcovers have too many colors, fade like Dracula in sunlight and fit poorly. Too make matters worse, the number tags fall off with just more than casual contact. For example, drop the club with the headcover on and the tag is not likely to come up with the headcover. In short, the headcovers are too busy and too ornamental! For the money, the Hogan Edge CFT Hybrids are definitely a good value. With a little less color on the club heads and headcovers, they would be perfect. BTW, if you aren't a single-digit handicapper and you haven't tried a hybrid club, you are seriously mired in the 90s and giving up a small bucket of strokes every round. My Hogans unceremoniously outed my 3-iron and 4-iron in a single round! Save your tokens and try these Hogans (or somebody's hybrids), as in before your next long iron accident. You won't regret it. dafoxyman "Beaten by skill, but NEVER by technology!"

Callaway Hawk Eye VFT Fairway Woods--Real Heaven Woods!
Several years ago, Callaway introduced a series of titanium fairway woods dubbed the Hawk Eve VFT Fairway Woods. They were touted for their larger, lighter heads and "Variable Face Thickness" technology. Sounded good so I bought. I started with the 3 and 5 woods, later adding the 7 wood. No small purchase as they sold for $399.00 each at that time. After months of play, I discovered VFT fairway woods rock! They are longer than average, durable and very forgiving. They have very generous sweet spots. Center contact produces a nicely pronounced "ping." Off-hits and mis-hits still travel a long way. The "System 60" and "Pro Series" shafts feel a little heavy, but not enough to affect play. From the beginning, I have used a stiff flex and these shafts lived up to my expectations. Recently, I had my Hawk Eye VFTs re-shafted with the Fujikura Fit-On E270 Flex-S shafts. The Fujikuras weigh 66-68 grams and they have a mid/high kick point. Now, my drives and shots fly slightly lower than with the factory shafts. Because most factory-installed shafts and grips are cheap, I highly recommend YOU get fitted for a custom shaft and grip to maximum your results. Only the club head has more effect on your distance and carry than the club shaft. It is the ENGINE that drives the car. The Callaway factory grips are thinner than the comics in a Sunday newspaper. Consequently, I replaced them with GripMaster one-piece leather grips. GripMaster is the tackiest, best feeling grip I have ever used. The metallic finish on the crown of the VFTs hides scuffs and sky marks better than darker colors. However, the colors on the soles disappear relatively quickly. Still, the soles look good hundreds of rounds later. The club faces show wear, but not terribly. Although the head covers are ugly, fragile and short-lived at best, they actually go on and off quickly and easily. They take up very little space on or off of the clubs. However, the head covers have a foamy consistency and they seem to literally disintegrate over time as well as fade like Dracula at sunrise. About a year ago, I sold my VFT woods after purchasing the newer Callaway X fairway woods. While the VFT woods are long from the fairway, they are so large and light that they literally float on top of deep rough. As a result, if you regularly play courses with deep rough, you will need fairway woods with smaller, lower profile heads like the X woods. They cut through rough for solid contact. However, if you play courses with light to moderate rough and generous fairways, the VFT woods would be right at home. I just recently purchased VFT 3, 5 and 7 fairway woods, again. While I don't notice very much difference in distance, although the ball flight with the X fairway woods is somewhat lower. On courses with generous fairways and light to moderate rough, I like having the option of added forgiveness with the VFT woods. Although the VFTs may be a little old, their technology still works. I'm playing them, again, therefore, I highly recommend them to you as perhaps the real "heaven woods". dafoxyman "Beaten by skill, but NEVER by technology."
