Bowes &Wilkins px headphones
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Due to issue with using (real) loudspeakers at my current address I decided to go for a decent pair of headphones in order to stop noise pollution gaining myself a bad reputation in the neighbourhood, my first pair of B&W (model DM7 mk1, back in 1979, of which I also still own a beautiful pair of, which I will never consider parting with..) taught me the truth about a quality loudspeaker partnered with an equally competent amplification and source, be it compact disc or vinyl, with a capability to take you into a third dimension that needs to be experienced to be believed, in most instances, the listening room requires to be built or constructed sympathetically around the listening equipment, using soft and hard furnishings to achieve the desired mind blowing result .. however having this luxury can be something harder to acquire than might be expected, enter the B&W PX Headphones, this is the first pair of headphones I have owned or used since a pair of Quad Electrostatic semi open model that I purchased in around 1983, and memories of those were notable even by memory alone, however they ran from a rather large power supply and sported wires reminiscent of a 1950's bakelite telephone (For those lucky enough to remember such relics ?) The B&W's are bluetooth and therefore wireless but can also be used wired if required via 3.5mm stereo jack plugs, meaning the will work with analogue equipment of all vintages, but MY experience is with digital media to which I am becoming a convert and a simple pairing of Spotify on my Samsung Galaxy android phone paired with these magnificent headphones is (almost) as good as listening to a full blown analogue Bowers & Wilkins experience with (real) loudspeakers, it must be noted, and taken very seriously that from NEW these items will require a running in period to loosten up the electromechanical aspects of their build and as with all loudspeakers, a general loostening up of the moving parts, not forgetting the burning in of the cabling inside the headphone itself, will prove itself over a period of time and must be adhered to with patience, for when these items are NEW they could possibly dissapoint to the extent of thinking the performance might not be what one just paid for, but with the hindsight of knowledge I would strongly advise listening until at some point the soundstage will start to open up and will continue to improve with further time invested in listening to old favourites and maybe even some newer material which I can guarantee will get the feet moving and juices flowing, brilliantly detailed with powerful but understated bass, brilliant midrange and highly detailed top end, delicate and 'deft' in delivery, with breathtaking timing and and air of superior composure in EVERYTHING you listen to, BUT please remember that running in period .. You WILL hear the sound open up and the rewards of patience are magnificent. Enjoy..
