Vivitar Series 1 VMC 70-210mm f/3.5 MF Lens For Canon

Every photographer should own one of these
You should do some homework to figure out which of the 5 generations of this lens you'll be getting. It is smooth, crisp, and very well suited to a mirrorless digital camera (with the appropriate converter). My 2nd-generation lens (Tokina-built; serial number starts with 77) is very lightweight and the one-handed zoom/focus action is extremely smooth. It's crisp and sharpens up at higher f-stops. Other people have written much more comprehensive reviews than I can put in here. Bottom line, this was everybody wanted in the 1970s-1990s and there was a good reason for that. It's fast, light, and handles well... just like a good sportscar

Fun, funny, well-researched, and candid
Fun, funny, well-written, and candid. Tons of research behind it. I think A. J. Baime is an important historian and a great writer. This is, however, an early work and that shows.

Readable, clean, accurate
Very readable, well organized, clean language. I bought a second book for my 10 year old nephew who isn't much of a reader.
