Middle of the Road with all of the expected genre flaws
Too many scientific errors; e.g., instantaneous radio comms when the spaceship is traveling at miles per second while the speed of sound is in miles per hour. The usual and overused antagonism between the main characters and the usual government interference. One other note. It is a two part movie, originally on two discs. Instead of eliminating all of the intro stuff at the beginning of the second part, they left it so you have to wade through it again before getting to the actual film. That is annoying. All of that and more make it a middle of the road movie. It was a made for tv mini-series. This version is 176min-the complete mini-series. The other version has been edited to 120min. There is a third version that is even shorter. If you like the genre and prefer the uncut version, this dvd is worth the price--as long as it is under $15.00.

I bought this item based on the fact tha...
I bought this item based on the fact that I own "Bear Island", another MacLean adaptation. Compared to that film the story, & the acting, wasn't that great. The quality of the dvd is excellent.

The perfect chainsaw accessory.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This item replaced an earlier model "Oregon" sharpener, that lasted nearly 15 years. This item is more compact, easier to hold and control, and the chuck is easier to operate. I use the accessory plug [easier than clipping to the battery] but both options are available. The price, when I purchased it, was excellent. I heat with wood and this product saves valuable time and effort maintaining a sharp chain. I wouldn't be without this product.
