Disks Are No Good.

I have purchased these disks before and had fairly good luck with them. However, the latest stack that I bought has many bad disks in it. They seem to burn ok but for some reason they will NOT PLAY properly in any of my DVD players. I also noticed spots in the dye and several of them were scratched. I understand that bargain-priced disks may not be as good but these are ridiculous. I do not recommend them.

Very Good Disks

These disks do perform perfectly fine as long as you don't try to burn them faster than 4x. Sure they say 8x but that doesn't mean they will burn at 8x in all equipment. Also, be sure that the firmware in your burner is up to date. Outdated firmware will cause compatibility problems with most blank media.

Be Careful With These Discs

These DVD media are ok for data or short term video storage but NOT recommended for archiving. These disks are manufactured by a company in China known as UME which is well-known for producing sub-par blank media. Despite what they say about being compatible with most burners and players they are NOT. I tried them in several burners and about half of them did not even see the disks. Those that did burn would not play in some players. The price is a good deal but as I said, there is a high risk of failure with these disks.
