Clever, well perfomed, well worth purchasing!
This was an ambitious film to try to make - and it worked. What if you suspected that your family was the real life inspiration for "The Graduate"? Jennifer Aniston suddenly comes to the conclusion that her family are just that - and her worst fears are realised! Obviously she want to know a lot more - who? Where? When? Why? Her researches take her on a wild ride, which includes endangering her engagement. (and on a personal note, I LOVE the scene where she goes to try to patch things up with her fiance - because when she tries the time-honoured line "it meant nothing", her fiance tells her EXACTLY what's on his mind - and falling into each others arms and swearing undying love ISN'T top of his agenda). It's clever, it's well written, well performed - highly recommended!!

A MUST READ for parents of children with ASD or related issues
In today's world, diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum disorder is becoming more and more frequent, yet useful advice for parents based on real, hands-on experience is still woefully inadequate. Enter Jacqui Jackson. She is a single parent with SEVEN (yes, seven!) children, all of the boys have autism &/or related issues, all of the girls are symptom free. (Is "autism" the "male disease"? The Jury is still out!). However, by allowing her family to be in the public eye (they were the inspiration for a film featuring Helena Bonham Carter), and through this book Ms Jackson has brought an incredible wealth of experience to both parents and professionals. You'll meet all of her children, hear about the day to day trials and tribulations in coping with all of their special needs, find endless examples of coping strategies, practical advice, and above all, if you are a parent who has a child with a diagnosis of autism, or a related issue, you'll share the tale of the incredible love and devotion which has allowed Ms Jackson to come through everything still with a smile on her face. (Even if the text seems a bit "formal" at times) If you pick the book up and it seems a bit daunting, then skip to the index and pick a word which relates to your situation - noise sensitivity maybe, or sarcasm (misunderstood), or obsessions - all of which may be relevant to your child. As the parent of a child with ASD, I can't speak highly enough of this book.

chuckles but not many laughs to be had here
This is a comedy which SHOULD work, but somehow never quite gets the rhythm ... The basis is simple enough, and potentially very funny - disgruntled employees (some facing redundancy) taking revenge on their company. (I can empathise, I've wanted to on more than one occasion!). And Jennifer Aniston appears as one of the employee's girlfriend, so you would assume that her comedy experience will pay dividends. But somehow it just doesn't happen. There are some potential comedy moments - such as (when faced with hiding an unexpectedly huge sum of money) the guys end up looking up "money laundering" in a dictionary to ensure they understand the concept - and a good comedy standby of one of the guys getting upset about one of Jennifer's PREVIOUS boyfriends (and he manages a case of mistaken identity in the process!) But at best the film elicits polite chuckles and not roaring laughter The film starts, it meanders along, and it ends on a fairly happy note. Very disappointing really.
