uss hornet doolittle raider kit
The kit instructions are easy to read and lends well to the construction of the model. THhe model size is relatively easy to work with and there is a fair degree of accuracy in the elements of the ship. The inclusion of more life rafts, deck railing, artillery, and perhaps a few hanger deck attack planes would add authenticity to the overall kit. Most of the carrier suggested colors are historically wrong, so I would suggest taking the time to research the actual colors the carrier was decked out in before beginning. Inclusion of the camaflage markings was good, and the enclosed decals were clear and appropriate. The bombers, although small, need some weight in the front to keep them resting on their wheels. I will be modifying them to make them look more authentic, in respect of the painting, and slightly shaving the wheels to make them look somewhat round. All in all a good model representative.
