Srixon Z585 Driver 9.5/5.5: older generation & second top range but represents great value
I have been chasing this club with the combination of 9.5degree loft & regular Hzardus 5.5 shaft. (everyone seemed to go with the stiffer shafts)
It’s now outdated by Srixon’s next generation of clubs & lacks some of the refinements of replaceable shafts, adjustable weights & head angles.
It’s certainly more club than my ability warrants but I aspire to use it for personal improvement.
It’s light & sits easily in the hand; quality Golf Pride grip; sits well & addresses the ball nicely; oversized head makes connection with the ball more consistent than my old driver; makes an unusual sound when the ball is struck but that might reflect the appalling quality of balls at my range. Well struck balls fly distances compatible with the loft but not an astonishing long hitting club.
Naturally, it’s an unforgiving club of swing flaws.
All in all it suits my ability, matches the rest of my Srixon clubs & inspires me to continue practicing.

Mini maglite LED upgrade
This is a brilliant product that transformed my incandescent Maglite to a nocturnal weapon!
The new beam is bright & easily focussed; it is extremely easy to fit; the original torch is a well made classic that is now a modern classic.

Excellent rangefinder
This is a high quality precision instrument: I was looking for a rangefinder that could easily accommodate golf or hunting & this has all the features I required for both: high magnification, quality optics, a number of different targeting options, elevation adjustment (that can be turned off if required), ease of use (the manual is down-loadable from the Bushnell website).
I would have liked an illuminated reticle but there are limited rangefinders with this feature at this price. It was inexpensive & delivered quickly.
