Aluminum vs plastic
This should solve the problem of replacing the plastic thermostat housing. It is not an exact copy of the plastic version. The 5/8 diameter hose that goes into the top has to be trimmed 3/16" at the bottom of the the 90 degree bend. The main hose has zero clearance between the mouth of the air intake and the top of the thermostat housing. Both these problems are due to the top of the aluminum housing sits 1/8" higher than the other plastic version. This part should be labeled for 2006? To 2011 Ford Ranger V6. It has 2 sensors on but you only need one of them for these years. The problem with the other aluminum thermostat housing listed for later years is the hose connector on top is mounted in the wrong direction. You have to the earlier version on later trucks. The older version also has the 3 teeth coming from the bottom of the housing where the one listed for later years does not. I got this aluminum thermostat housing to work on 2010 Ford Ranger but barely. I had to buy both versions of these aluminum housings to find this out. Good luck!
