Perfect for inaccessible or heat-sensitive locations
These LEDs have the right color balance to imitate incandescent lighting that was present in all railroad facilities for so many years. These are perfect for locations on the model railroad where access for replacing burned-out grain-of-wheat bulbs would be difficult or impossible. They come with resistors that can be soldered in series with the LEDs to protect them from being accidentally overdriven (remember to place a heat-sink clip between the soldering point and the LED while you are applying heat). In use they generate virtually no heat so won't distort plastic even after being illuminated a long time.
