Fortunately not stainless steel.
These alligator clips are chrome plated steel which is what they are required to be if they are a good product.
Stainless steel does not solder and so is useless.
These clips have the added advantage that they accept banana plugs which is handy for electronics work.
I don't believe they should be called crocodile clips because crocodile clips close with a different mechanism.
They are a good buy, but of course if the price was less I would buy more.
My recommendation is to re-word the advertising to make it correct.

Lucky find
The schematic is available from Russia but it is the same as much smaller devices.
You will need a lot of room for this device but it is worth it.

Near perfect buck regulator
This regulator needs only two more features to be perfect-hand operated 10 turn pots and a menu choice that shows the current.
