Breyer horses are not made for play.
The Breyer horses are more for collecting unfortunately not to play. All legs on these cheaply made toys break and can pose a hazard for smaller children. These all are more to be left in the box. Back in the day when Breyer was made in the USA they were extremely good quality. Not now!

Quality is good because it's older not made with newer material.
Works great. Quality is good because it's older not made with newer material that tends to have cheaper parts that malfunction or break.
