OK but Magellan is regressing
Inferior to prior Magellan series units in 2 respects: The TeleAtlas maps now used are crude and inferior to the Naveteq maps previously used in EVERY respect. 2: The max volume available in this unit has been reduced to a point that you CANNOT hear any of the directions if you do something "unusual" like say, turn on the radio.. just amazingly stupid design. 3: at hidden map boundaries the unit sometimes freaks out and suddenly instructs you to "immediately U Turn !!!" for absolutely no reason... just pathetic. Magellan product development is sadly regressing, clearly nobody there actually tries to use their own products.

Exactly what you need to revive an old Magellan
Clearly a good new battery, size is exact replacement. Some Magellan units use this battery with plug-in connection, others solder it directly to the motherboard, it comes with the connector.

Unreal quality at a true bargain price when on sale.
Mirage omni sound produces a superior soundstage anywhere in the room. Mids and Highs are detailed with the clarity Mirage is famous for. The Bass, what there is, is tight and clean but these really should not be run without a quality subwoofer. They look extremely good and include both 5 point quality rubber tipped and point feet for decoupling from any floor.
