My choice for digiscoping
I came to the TZ10 after seeing excellent results of using this model for photographing through the eye-piece of a scope. The GPS feature is very useful for telling others where a bird has been seen when wandering through the wild and is useful for cataloguing afterwards. I also use it for documenting the landscapes.
The light weight allows one to position the camera on the eyepiece by fitting it into the rubber around eyepiece, and using the the delayed release thus reducing shake. The excellent large digital viewer allows orientation and a focussing check while digiscoping.
So far I am delighted with the quality of the pictures and all special features including the flash in ultra-close-up and macro mode with wide-angle. The anti-shake features in low light and the iE (intelligent automatic) are impressive. The latter can be used reliably if you don't have time to adjust everything manually.
Specialized adapters for downloading and small batteries with low capacity are part of the daily annoyances one encounters with modern electronic technologies. One should always have replacements at hand.
