Works, but has some issues
My only real complaint about this is the connecting attachments don't seem tight enough. The flash when locked onto the mount seems loose and can easily slip off the important contacts. I am afraid to take pliers to tighten the metal bars for fear of breaking the unit. I have to continually slide the flash forward to maintain contact points. Other than that, it works fine.

Works perfectly
Perfect replacement for original charger. I bought two, one for home and one to keep in my camper. Both items work perfectly.

Excellent product with features that are no longer available on the SB-500 replacement.

Great as a fill light as the ev compensation buttons are right on the flash for easy adjustment. This is no longer available on the replacement sb-500 model. Much quicker to adjust on the flash then to go through camera menus during a shoot. Solidly built and uses 4 AA batteries (new 500 flash only uses 2, which make me wonder about power output when needed as well as recycle times and how long it will last before you have to change batteries). Wish Nikon would keep this model as active inventory. There are too many older camera models out there that might not have the menus needed to drive the new flash. I don't think you should be forced to buy a D-5 or D500 to use current line of accessories.
