GLEE IS GREAT!!!
I have not been entertained this well by a TV show in a long time. In the very beginning, I had to get over the hurdle of the characters and show being somewhat stylized. But it turned out to be a minor hurdle and became part of the "cuteness" of the show. I've seen each episode multiple times because I've been showing them to classes. Yet, I am always catching some small bit that I've missed previously. Watching the musical performances has been terrific. The music has gotten more interesting as the show progresses. (It has to be this way for the plot to work.) The way the pieces are woven into and contribute to the story line is great. The plot/characters...just everything, really has steadily improved. There is no question that all these shows are great fun to watch, especially for a group, but the show that come after this DVD--the SECOND half of season one--are even better! (I cannot wait until that comes out!) If you like REAL music--not the talentless crap that today's teens listen to--you will love this show. The musical pieces are all updated.
