Great result
I was a little nervous about fitting this part to the Audi A4 tailgate, but determined to try as the central locking was not opening the rear door. Part arrived by return, no instructions, but I had been on YouTube to understand how to remove the trim. The video was really clear. It took me about 30 mins to complete the work, as I went carefully. One thing I learnt was to wear thin gloves which protected my hands from being cut. My lack of confidence was rewarded with an instant result of the actuator locking and unlocking perfectly. Real feeling of achievement here!
The hardest part was getting the rod into the nylon connector. I couldn't do this at first but in the end slid the rod along the groove in the connector until the hook located in the hole. This connector end of the actuator splits in half which makes the job much easier, you can reassemble after fitting the motor mechanism to the door.

Wainwrights are for the also rans......
This is a comprehensive guide, and incredibly, much of the information is still accurate in 2016.
I completed my first Birkett round, without trying hard, in 87 Fell days. Also bagging Mungrisdale Common and Castle Crag to complete yet another Wainwright round.
What great days too. Some of these tops require some precise navigation, and in poor visibility this is great fun.
I really enjoyed the bushwhacking to link together tops and make up funny day routes. More like Scotland.
The book is well organised with sections, oversight map and then a detailed narrative. I pursue lists simply because they take you places methodically and purposefully. Sad, yes, but highly motivating. To 'have a plan' for the day means you get up and go, not another cup of tea or a quick bacon buttie, you find yourself on the hill.
This book has reinvented my walking in the Lakes and created a meaningful goal.
My current round looks like being sub 50 days, and how sad is that?
