Shelf is very useful for holding shampoo, soap, and shower accessories.
The bench we received was not teak wood. It was 100% made of bamboo. The bamboo is probably equal to teak and should hold up to water very well. The bench was well made and easy to assemble. Once assembled the bench is very sturdy and light in weight

Great light at an outstanding price.
Very well constructed with a nice clean finish. Easy to install. With a little work it can be modified to install it with the lights pointing up. The price was excellent and Hampton Bay makes quality products. 40 watt bulbs provide plenty of light.
