Great value. Really good image quality, easy to use, and proven quality with previous A129 going 4.5 years strong.
Impressive build quality, image quality, and operation in low light levels.
Good reliability for something operating in a harsh environment.
I like the low profile mounting arrangement, and the ability to still use the screen.
I had been using a Viofo A129 (standard) for over 4.5 years, when I removed it from the windscreen to clean it a bit better around the GPS mount, and promptly dropped it. After that, the image went blurry. So I decided to upgrade the resolution and buy the A129 Pro. My existing rear camera plugged straight in, and as you would expect from an upgrade to 4K, the front images/videos from the A129 Pro are noticeably clearer. When you freeze-frame the video, numberplates on the cars in the lanes to the sides are now clearly legible, but on the standard one you can only clearly see the plate on the car in front, and when you're close to it - the others are blurry. Parking mode and operating in low light have also improved.
I was so impressed with my original A129 and the reliability - thousands of hours of footage recorded, and never missed a beat. That's why I bought the new A129. The updated (and improved) A129 Pro is all the same and better.
I like the phone WiFi interface, making it easy to get the setup and alignment right, and adjust the myriad of settings. The image saving/viewing on the phone is still clunky, but I don't use it - it's simple just to pull out the card and put it into the laptop. I have run a 128gb card since 2018 - same card all the time, and no issues. I am not game to try a 256 because of the formatting issues people complain about.
I also bought the polarizer filter and remote control this time around. The polarizer didn't eliminate reflections on the windscreen, but it did reduce them. The remote button works perfect, and is so much easier than reaching up to press the camera button, which is a pain when you have the sunvisor down, and have to move it out of the way.
I will be buying another A129 (dual camera) system for my wife's car next.
They are great value for money, and I won't be buying any other brand for some time.

Good unit once calibrated properly
Supplied with a 6km/h error. Instructions don't explain how to calibrate, but I played with it for a while and stumbled upon a calibration setting. Changed the CAL number to 106, and now it accurately reads 100km/h at 100km/h instead of showing 106 previously.
Auto-brightness works well, and it's very quick to find satellites.
Only quality complaint is the power socket in the unit is poor, and doesn't seem to connect to the PCB properly, which causes the power to flicker on & off over bumps in the road.
