I was very pleased to have a good copy of volume one and now very pleased to find this copy of volume two. Class 37's are worth it! Many thanks. Your books are always reliable quality purchases.

A good photo book of a proud railway.
This is another good quality book in the series. The stiff covers are very protective and once again all the locomotive colour photos are very good .
There is a difference that I find with Great Western Locomotive photographs...
A/ The sun always shines.
B/ Unlike all the other steam locomotives in other regions, I find it difficult to tell what class many of their 4-6-0's are, as they have similar fittings and liveries, without reading the captions!
C /How did the GWR manage to keep their loco's so CLEAN SHINY, even into the 1960's? There are only two or three photos in the book of engines that are looking dusty.

The book's cover photos says it all...
Here in the 21st ccentury, we are just lucky that there were so many young lads with camereas , film and the desire to record their local STEAM AGE. They turned out in all weathers, on foot or on bicycles and took some excellent photographsof an age that is now gone, along with the dinasaurs. This is a lovely book of photographs about the last outpost of steam... the North West corner of England.
