Don't Monkey with The Paw!
Originally aired on The "Chiller Channel", I was happy to find this on DVD. Various Versions of this story have been written since The 1920's,and this Modern Day Tale taking place in New Orleans is the best so far. Actor Stephen Lang is terrific in any role he's played from " Gettysburg"," Gods & Generals"," Tombstone", and his latest "Don't Breathe". In this film his co-worker is given The Monkey's Paw along with Three Wishes it supposedly grants ( that don't turn out exactly as planned). Great Suspense along the lines of some of Sam Rami's Horror Titles or The "Saw" Films.

Great, Nostalgic look at The "Hep-Cat" Bikers of The 1950's
Brando's Best work was done in the Fifties (until "The Godfather" in 1971). In this film, he portrays the leader of a Motorcycle Gang who clashes with a member of his former one (played by Lee Marvin). The Small town they happen to meet in is eventually terrorized by both groups, with the Local Sheriff's Daughter( played by Mary Murphy) falling for Brando in the midst of it all. Brando's Image in this film set the trend of The Black Leather Motorcycle Jacket as a symbol of rebellion, up until it was considered "Safe" decades later because of being worn by musicians like Springsteen and "The Ramones". The "Hep-Cat" dialogue in the script was taken from interviews with various Motorcycle Groups around at the time. Viewers will note Future '60's TV Series Characters in the film such as "Mr. Kimball" from "Green Acres", and Dick Van Dyke's Future Neighbor "Jerry". Starting Fourteen Years later, this formula was used in a string of Motorcycle Film's from American International. A Great film to own, now released on Blu-Ray.

Try to get Full Size Edition, easier on the reading (and eyes)...
Great History of "The Ghost Rider" released to coincide with Nicolas Cage's Film. Contains all the history of the comic's creation and evolvement (wish I still had my Early '70's Issues). Unless you have eyesight like Johnny Blaze, try to get the Full Size Edition (Best Buy sold a Condensed Version, printing and artwork shrunk as well). All these years I didn't know Ghost Rider's Leathers were based on Elvis Presley's 1968 TV Show Suit. Wonder if Nicolas knew that already?...
