Nice overview of Black Mask Detective Stories
All entertaining stories with a variety of different authors - each story is by a unique author with the exception of Dashiell Hammett who appears once under his own name and once under a pseudonym. The authors include the well-known (Hammett, Chandler, Gardner, etc) and the relatively obscure (Merle Constiner, William Brandon). Fourteen stories that originally appeared in Black Mask between 1922 and 1949.
