not a cataliyic converter like we have now
there is just a small mesh across the pipe at each end
not the full packed baffle like a proper converter with internal foil coated with the caterlyser metals to remove the harmful hydro carbons
i should have gone and checked the laws for that year, as this dose not Catalise the gasses that flow through the system.
just a perforated mesh at each end of the box, ???
