Good motor, waiting to use more.

The motor runs well. I needed a longer cord, which was easy to connect once I had the proper connectors. There isn't enough room under the wiring cover for straight female spade connectors, so I had to order some "flag" (90 degree) ones. When they came & were crimped on it was a piece of cake. I'm guessing it is well designed. I'd been using a 1 HP Craftsman motor of about the same vintage, and never had a problem. There are a lot of the Craftsman table saws out there, so I'd think the design has proven itself by now. There were just a few times with the 1 HP motor, when making full depth rip cuts on harder wood, when the 1 HP would need to slow down. I'm hoping the 1-1/2 HP motor helps out there. My normal blade is a Freud 10", 50 tooth, thin kerf, combination blade. I've got a 24T chrome steel rip blade, but didn't bother to change blades for just a few cuts. Time will tell how much the extra 1/2 HP helps.

Bought for a friend

Never opened it. I bought it to replace an OEM that I borrowed from a friend and then accidentally broke. I just reposted the package to the friend, who lives in another state. The package did arrive very promptly though.
