Good value and will safeguard against theft
The design and price makes the outboard lock a good value and it would appear to be a fairly good deterrent to would-be thieves. I have used a cable lock in the past but it's easy to cut. The design of this lock is to shield the tightening bolts that secure the outboard to the transom so that the bolts cannot be unscrewed, thereby preventing the outboard from being removed. The lock is recessed so there is no easy way to cut the lock. Nothing will truly prevent someone who really wants your outboard from taking it but I think for the money this is a good deterrent. I'd recommend the product.
P.S. keep the keys where you can access them just in case you need to remove the motor.

Fun for a rainy day...
My kids had this for a while and pulled it out on a rainy day as alternative to coloring, and they loved it. Worked exactly as described and did I say fun!
