For Emergency Use!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich With the change from E5 to E10 I have concerns about long term issues with my clsssic Mini Cooper RSP. It is a 1990 model and some componants may be degraded by the ethanol concentrations in the new E10 fuels. Additionally as the fuel is hydroscopic water may build up in the fuel tank during long term storage.
For these reasons I will purchase Premium E5 petrol whenever possible. Despite this it is possible that in some locations this may not be available so filling up with E10 may be unavoidable. Whilst one tank of E10 may not present an issue provided it is used quickly and then E5 used to fill up I am concerned that the car may be unused for a period of time with the E10 fuel present in the fuel system.
By carrying the MillersEPS in the car I can minimise the impact by using it should I have to fill up with E10. Not a total solution but should mitigate some of the potential issues.

Does what it says.
I have aq classic Mini Cooper and run it without a 'mechanical fan'. This reduces noise and makes changing the fan belt easy as well as liberating a few horse power.
To provide additional cooling I have fitted a big core radiator and thermostatic electric fan. This works well most of the time but on very hot days the fan runs most of the time on motorway journeys and the temp gets up to about three quartes on the tempersture indicator (I would say gauge but the standard instrument on the Mini gives at best an indication).
I have used Water Wetter previously with good results so I got some for the Mini.
The addition of the required amount of Water Wetter has reduced the demands on the fan which now seems more able to maintain a temp just above the half way mark. In addition the Water Wetter has corrosion inhibitor properties and lubricated the water pump and seals which can only benefit the engine long term.

Simple and Quiet
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I was looking for a replaceent water pump when I came across this simple device which aerates the water. On double checking I found faylt with pump and fixed it but decided to try the aerator.
It is a simple venturi which draws air into the water stream from the ump. It has proved highly effective and has the advantage that there is no air pump and hence no noise plus the lack of pipe exterior to the tank is a bonus.
There is a simple regulator to adjust the air flow and I have turned this down to minimise noise from the larger air bubbles. Therefore I have a constant stream of fine bubbles.
With no moving parts this device should have a long life.
Not cheap but effective.
