Easy Fix
It took a bit of effort to knock the bushings out of the wheel hub. I filled the worn spots on the axles with JB Weld Steel Epoxy :^) and filed it even with the good metal next day, using a bearing to gauge the progress. Everything else was stupid simple, and I think this repair will probably outlast the tractor.

Did what it was intended to do.
Gives a good score, so the glass breaks cleanly. It tends to leak a bit oil while laying on the table; only put enough oil in for the job at hand, and prop the business end up and all's well. Also, note that carbonized oil (I used a candle to heat my score line) is a bit harder to clean up than candle carbon alone.
