Wonderful “old fashioned” potholders!
I’ve used this type of potholder for my whole cooking life and they are not easy to find. I don’t like oven mitts or thick potholders because I cannot easily grasp pots & pans with them. My current ones woven potholders old and falling apart. So glad I was able to find these— they are just perfect! Also like they are cotton and more burn resistant than acrylic.

Confusing Ottoman Empire Mystery
While the two primary subjects (solving of mysteries and history of Janissaries and Ottoman Empire) were individually compelling, the interweaving of the two was so convoluted and unnecessarily detailed that it made the novel confusing and uninteresting. Our book club rated it a two out of five and we have pretty sophisticated readers in our group.
