For Hendrix fans this pedal is a must! However you need to add one thing
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This is the greatest pedal I've used in my 35 years of playing as a full-time pro and as a (shutter)......hobbyist...(gasp)
You want to sound like Jimi through just about any amp setup or even by running this direct into your computer or PA?
This pedal will do that for you. Whether or not you own an overpriced tube amp or a good solid state amp, it doesn't matter. Of course being able to play like Hendrix is a different story. It can't play your guitar for you. But even if you only know a couple chords, those chords will now make your socks roll up and down your leg.
Just about every review I've read agrees that this is a great sounding pedal. So what's the problem? Why doesn't everyone give it 5 stars? Here's the one and only common complaint. Many of you out there are having trouble engaging the heel button. For whatever reason, many of the JHE pedals that were sold were returned because of the heel button being difficult to push down on. You had to put a lot of pressure on the back of the pedal, and just at the right spot to get the button underneath to engage, right? Some of you bitterly tried to ignore the problem, and then got real frustrated, bounced the pedal off of your bedroom wall and then couldn't return it because it looked too beat up. Some found out the hard way that if you push too hard, you might break the treadle. Sure, many people have actually broken it and I've seen the pictures and read the complaints. I've seen people sell JHE pedals on EBAY with the treadle broken in half. This was definitely a design flaw concerning the treadle position and the rear button location, but some pedals are worse than others for getting the button to properly activate. If the rear button doesn't work, you can still use the pedal, but you miss out on a few very cool effects and that's just not acceptable!
Solution!! Spend the extra $20 at Guitar Center and get that darned Digitech FS3X accessory foot pedal that plugs into the side of the Jimi Pedal! You will never have to stomp on the Jimi Pedal ever again! You can easily switch modes and toggle up and down through the settings with ease all day long!
Now you can just use the Jimi pedal for the wah wah or expression effects only and keep it in mint condition. If you can't get the brand new one on sale at GC for $20, just get a used one for around the same price. They are very common because they work on many different pedals. There's nothing complicated about this FS3X extension pedal, so don't worry about getting a used one. It is very, very basic and probably even easy to make! There's just three buttons and some wires. This has a nice case and is well made. It's plenty rugged enough for nightly stage use.
If you like the Jimi Hendrix Experience pedal, it's crazy not to get the accessory FS3X foot-switch. It makes the JHE pedal a breeze to operate and it keeps your beloved Jimi pedal from getting any wear and tear.
Life is too short, get the Jimi Hendrix Experience pedal and the accessory FS3X foot-switch and be happy. Woodstock lives!
