cisco wifi, cheap but needs a contorler unless has software to stand alone
to note most of these take a controler, with out it unless u have stand alone software u never get it working i have wism2 card with newest updates makes it plug and play more so if u get the mod for back of the unit then expands what these can do , to get the wism2 card config is not no fun,
it had taken me 6 months becuase the software was out date and crashing. they updated the software on all parts works perfick now

system change under new software it wont run if not in vss mode
cisco no longer has trainning help fix probems. these cards are the most powerfull cards built compair today system would cost you 400k these cards missing two things, the card is vr card it will not work well with new software unless conveted in vss, it will not run most the other cards wism will only in part work. fully no the hardware will not talk to each other, but what you not told is it will only work with some cards, it wont work with poe cards. you must have two power supplys one is not enouf power. the new software has huge probems some commands dont work others will crash the system, faceing the front there two slots for memory or rom card bouth slots must be filled with memory remove the rom.
last two slots one has flash chip it is static but also it is formated to that card each card is diffrent wont read flash chip some will, depends on version numbers. this what cisco lost as version numbers change so did the way they had be set up right now there up to 25 revisions to this card. and that just my count, i have 4 revisions and found they pain in butt to understand. wims wont work unless card converted to vss card has hidden ports vss ports only become active once vss is turn on but probem is eathernet card some wont work in vss mode, also note some eathernet cards wont turn on unless unit is online and the card is inserted while unit is running. cisco will if your most lucky help with basic probems get new software next impossable next to they alow me get new software for card and wism
but they cant fix probem and reason why unit is not in vss mode so wism will not work and they dont understand this, nam card is same way it is only a vss card throw your more lucky it will work in none vss mode but only with two interfaces this card has 8 interfaces none wich you access and all lock out rest will only come online in vss if card not vss you cant run wism and some other cards , cisco should be fully train in this as commnads not change all that much, but new commnads was place in the new version and guss what cisco knows nothing how these commands work ,
nor can they tell you if a running config is clean of errors, i cant get help i need to find the probems and i do think do to how software running, software has abuilt to whipe out all software throw they wont tell you this even on wism the new software can del all software i beleave this code was installed it will del the ios running config and startup config and all other files, back up all files ,card is very sound card its the software the probem quistion is why write code to del all files ?

CISCO POE
what you should know these don't work with poe. they get power one of two ways
one throw cable modem port this one way to power it , other way is on side is hidden port for 12 volts
what i done was run cat 6 in to it two wire not used in cat 6 is 7 and 8
i taken them out to run the 12 volt side so in sence it still runs over one cable but u have power it with 12 volts 4 amps
there no poe will power this power reqirements are diffrent so if u want get power up u have use 12 volts
i had quistions on this, you must have a controler unless it has stand alone software installed
the new controler firmware will only support ap with 128 mb memory most all these has 64 mb probem with older firmware is it will not athencate with another ap or controler , the way they athencate throw certifices one that hardcoded in the system is expired by 3 or 4 years, now they clame there way bypass dates on certifices out 15 of these none would work,
in fack i help cisco fix the firmware on 720 controler wism2 card so that they would work togather cisco gave me the 3 pachs for my help ,
the controler will update the firmware on ap so u dont need worry about that
the stand alone software unless it lastest one out wont work with others ap's
please keep in mide these wont work unless u find one with 128mb
unless u find a controler that back dateing the clock here probem with that huge securty probems as it will no longer athencate with radius servers as clocks will be out sync
also note that this dont work with poe u eather power it by 120 volts wich i got ton cables for
on that i list on request if u need one
u suppoly it with 12 volts or is power by the modem wich is power at around 60 volts more or less
