Another HIt for Laura Childs southern murder mystery series
I feel that I know the characters Laura Childs has developed: the sleuth tea cafe/shop owner and her tea maker Drayton, and some of the other characters who pop in to the shop in the 29th book of the 'series'.
However, these books stand by themselves; but I have enjoyed them as annual reads as they are published, with the likable southern sleuth Theodesia who is unafraid and undeterred even when she receives veiled threats. There are some sad moments of course, but the 'who dunnit' mystery dominates these novels. I also enjoy reading how they stage their seasonal high teas in the shop: the decor detail as well as info about the types of teas being served. Also, the recipes included at the end are very simple and I do like to pick one from each book to try at home.

Quite a lady
Gilda is an amazing person: ahead of her time, resilient, she sets a high bar. A story of a woman coming into her own of the 1950's and 1960's. She was a friend of my mother, and I recall watching her on tv with her language teaching show. She is an icon for her dedication to whatever her endeavors, and to her faith.

Great guide for northeastern USA plantings.
Beautiful photo illustrations for plants for our area, with comprehensive useful content. It has sturdy glossy pages. The guide was a gift to a serious gardener, and was very must appreciated. It arrived in nice.shape (clean inside).
