Canon EF 2x III: Worth it!
5 von 5 finden das hilfreich Very nearly as sharp as the 70-200 2.8 IS II without the extender, though just a tough soft wide open at infinity. Doubles the focal length but does not affect the lens' minimum focus distance, so even useful for some light macro work. Fast enough focusing to catch birds in flight. Quick and easy to attach and detach.
It does throw the weight a bit to the rear when rig is mounted on tripod with lens collar, so lock it in tight or upgrade your head. Not really suitable for freehand shooting. Do keep in mind that doubling your focal length requires a faster shot to avoid motion blur.
Bottom line: it beats shelling out for a longer L lens.
