Great 'on the go' gadget!

Ryobi Hinge Template not quite there for UK market
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Having purchased this item to do a large number of doors for a friend's project, (19 Doors in all!) I hoped this template would have made the job easier after seeing several demos on Youtube. However, what was failed to be mentioned in those, as well as the supplier's product details, is that it's only suitable for the Hinge sizes in the U.S.! Although it accommodates the different Hinge lengths we have here in the UK, it does not allow for the depth of our narrower Hinge leafs, so therefore I have had to resort to my faithful Chisels. Apossible solution for Ryobi to get over this problem may be to supply some Plastic fillers for the 3" & 4" Hinges mostly used in UK.
Also, I agree with one of the demonstrators on Youtube that the Plastic Vice style tightening Handle makes Ryobi's Template look fragile and cheapens it, rather than including a Steel/Metal one which I know would increase the production cost, but most serious users would be prepared to pay for that improvement, which I suspect would be minimal increase for that amendment.
