Reading between the lines
Really good read. Takes the reader along the journey allowing insights of the writers personal walk intertwined with historical and contemporary insights.

Peter Simpkins book provides an in depth analysis of how and why Kitchener choose to create the New Armies. He considers the strengths and weaknesses of the new formations and the man behind them.It provides the best explanation written, invaluable to those with an interest in Britain's Great War.
