Great tires
I put these on a Team Associated SC10GT, rather than a crawler. I was expecting rapid tire wear and ludicrous ballooning, but it seems they're holding up amazingly well despite being used on a 40MPH nitro shortcourse truck! Great traction, great looks, zero appreciable wear on the tires after about a quart of donuts and drifting, and they barely balloon at all. If you're looking for a better appearing tire for your short course truck that offers better cushioning and a more scale ride, and your suspension allows you to use 1.9 sized crawler wheels, these are just the ticket! And they won't affect your gearing, as they're the same outside diameter as traditional short course tires!
I imagine they'd also be pretty good on an actual crawler, but as I don't have one, I can't attest to that.

Quirky, but overall a nice locomotive.
I bought one of these a while ago on another site, sold as a non-runner. The motors they used in them back in the 1960s(!!) weren't the best in the world and, today, they often don't run. Mine was no exception, but after retrofitting a newer, more functional, motor mine runs like a swiss watch. Quiet as a church mouse, pulls decently, a joy to operate no doubt. And mine is even rockin' a decoder!
See mine running at youtube: watch?v=2x3IYHy37w4
You'll need to have some mechanical aptitude to get one to run these days, but considering they were produced from 1967 to the mid 1970s it's understandable. And once you get the motor situation fixed, get it in quarter, get it lubed properly, it will run all day long happily chuffing around your layout!

They're ok
Too small. I bought these to match up with a set of PRoLine BFG ATAs in 1.9 size to put on my short course truck and the wheels are so small that the tires just fly off the wheels the instant the clutch engages. They're well made and will work fine if you're using 1.7 sized tires(I measured the relavent dimension and it came out to 1.75" or so, so a 1.7 tire will fit perfectly), but if you're looking to use 1.9s on these wheels look elsewhere.
I'm not faulting the seller I bought these from, though, because Vaterra themselves advertise these wheels as 1.9 size. And it was only six dollars to boot, not a big deal really.
