Ahead of its time. This model was top of the line for ultrabooks for many years. Still does nearly all that a $1,800 model purchased today will do. But this one is only worth about $200 if in great condition, because of its age. I have used versions of this model for the past 12 years and continue to do so. slightly thicker than the latest versions, but other than that, does just as much (and you can use CD's in it as well). I usually buy one of these and they last five or six years before I wear it out. Just purchased my third one in the last 12 years, and will expect it to go another five or six years even though it is six years old (though in like new condition). Battery goes 9 hours. screen is beautiful. Only negative is the speakers. If you listen to music much, get yourself an external speaker of good quality. These models also have an issue with heat. Though I've never had one of them die from heat issues, I do keep mine on a cooling fan stand thing that keeps it cool when I'm at my desk.
