Classic Courtroom Drama
Forget Perry Mason. This classic courtroom drama is the one to watch.
Charles Laughton is solid as the crusty British barrister fighting a seemingly hopelss case. Elsa Lanchester (Laughton's real-life wife) is excellent as the nurse who fusses over him, as he recovers from a heart attack. Marlene Dietrich is spellbinding as the accused Power's wife. Power is no slouch, and understands his role, but Laughton and Dietrich steal the show.
The ending is a surprise twist, but is perfectly believable.

Great research opportunity
These Navy Good Conduct Medals are often overlooked. Awarded for three years' good conduct, a 1945 date indicates service during the Second World War. Navy Muster rolls are available on Ancestry. National Archives can usually provide a service record.
