I should be the poster child
This book is very validating! I had a terrible relationship with my mother when growing up. In fact, we only started getting along well when she got Alzheimer's and forgot how to press my buttons. It was a great relief to read that others have had similar experiences of motherly conflict. If your relationship with your mom was trying (for reasons you never understood), this is the book for you.

This style was better in earlier version where interior was all cotton.

Best storyteller around
David's life prepared him to be a storyteller. The fact he is incredibly funny and well-spoken is a bonus. He grew up in the town where I currently reside (which I did not), but I've lived here more than 30 years and enjoy his occasional references to places in my neighborhood. His audio books are both humorous and soothing. Some nights, when my over active mind will not allow me to sleep, I plug in my earbuds and play one of David's CDs on my portable CD player. Next thing I know, I'm in a peaceful state, ready to sleep. Works better than Ambien! Enjoy the talent and delivery of this fine American humorist.
