X-planes scrap book
A must for any model maker interested in the different types of fixed wing aircraft tested by NASA. 144 pages of colour or black and white photos of the prototypes & concept models with a brief description. The weird and the wonderful captured in one book.

Squadron fine green modellers putty
I find this really useful for filling in small gaps, anything larger and you will need multiple layers. Allow for shrinkage,can be painted over but please use primer first for light colours.

An interesting kit as it presents the modeler with two options. Anti-submarine patrol or Search and Rescue.
There's no flash but the kit is difficult to build due to the different thickness of the plastic. The cockpit is basic, problems start with the fitting of the landing gear as the instructions are not that clear. The fitting of the engine assembly will need a bit of filler but you could try using either a resin replacement set or model the US-2. A lot of nose weight to prevent a tail sitter. The floats are the wrong shape but can be reworked.
It's a large kit not meant for the novice.
