There are better; more current books with better explanations and diagrams...

1st edition was best... Seems later versions get watered down... No problem hints / solutions... Bummer...Smaller print - harder to read... Maybe an acceptable reference for problems to solve for practice (again No solutions...)... Most of theory is explained decently... Not enough worked examples - room for improvement here for sure...

Nice copy - would have prefered a later edition BUT : Oh well this is better than nothing...

Has all the goodies you need to get wrapped up in Analysis... Look out: Laplace Transforms are coming your way... Happy hunting...

If 2nd edition is out of your budget - then this is an OKAY purchase... Otherwise Not so much...

Nice book for 1st edition.. But the 2nd edition is the one to get... Same authors ; excellent presentation / content - just more of it with corrections and answers to problems... You save a few bucks but don't get your full values worth if you want to go beyond an introductory title... Reputable seller - just trying to save you some extra cash for the more expensive updated edition... Even 1st edition may be too heavy reading for some beginners - with no problem solutions or hints to help smooth the learning curve for self study enthusiasts...
