The Reinhardt Magic
This is actually my second copy of this book…not only is it a great intro to one of the most significant figures in early to mid Twentieth Century theatre, but this is also a fantastic father and son story. I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Prokofiev as ‘diarist’? A must read.
This is the third and final volume of the Diaries of 20th Century master composer Sergei Prokofiev…more valuable than a traditional biography, this material gives the reader unsurpassed window into the day by day thoughts and actions of this great artist. So many figures come to life via the observational acumen and writing skill of the author.

Musical Olympus in Wartime L.A. Losangeles
A great augmentation to any information concerning that era in Los Angeles/Hollywood with the plethora of ex-pats and refugees from Hitler, Mussolini, and WW2 that were active here in the USS dad and made such great contribution to our culture and society. Figures very well known are mixed effectively with more obscure but significant personalities…I’m reading it now.
