Maybe the last great Windows Phone
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This might be one of the last Windows Phones offered to the US market, and it seems like Microsoft's best effort. I didn't choose the 950XL because it was too big for my preferences -- I still wanted to be able to put the phone in my pocket or console easily. This phone has a very slim profile & reasonably sized screen. I like that the back cover is removable so as to be able to get to the battery, SIM, and memory card slots. The screen is clear and bright and more responsive than on previous Microsoft/Lumia phones. This phone has USB-C, which is great because the charging/data cable can go in either way (and the cable's contacts are inside the metal shell, instead of outside as on the Apple Lightning connector, where they can get damaged). This phone comes with Windows 10 Mobile, which is a solid evolution of the Microsoft operating system with many useful features. One of the unique features is Windows Hello, which uses iris recognition to unlock the phone -- handy if you don't have a free hand to type in the passcode. It can authenticate if you are wearing glasses, but sometimes it is slow to recognize & I get impatient & just type in the passcode. The new Edge web browser is much better than the old Internet Explorer app, as it renders sites more accurately and doesn't lock up as much. The new Windows Mobile includes versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
I would not say the battery life is excellent, but it is very good & much better than previous Microsoft/Lumia phones. I'm a moderate user & have to charge the phone after about a day & a half. Also, a big disappointment I found was that Windows 10 Mobile doesn't support Outlook Tasks. You have to set up tasks through Cortana.
If you like the Windows Phone/Windows Mobile platform, this is probably the best effort ever, in terms of a quality device & operating system. If you've already abandoned Windows Phone or about to, this might be your last chance to see it's potential.

This is better than any generic supposed...
This is better than any generic supposedly OEM-style replacement - it actually fits the hole and its hole is big enough for the PCV valve to push in. It was shipped quickly too.

Just big enough & performs well
This phone has a large good quality screen, but the overall size of the handset is just right. It still fits in your hand & pocket, even with a rugged cover on it. I wouldn't want to go bigger, but the specs of this phone are much better than the E4.
When using cellular data, the battery drains much faster than working with WiFi. With moderate use, the battery life is good. The overall performance of the phone is very good but not as good as I thought it would be -- but this is keeping in mind that this phone is last year's model. I also run Microsoft apps extensively, which can use a lot of resources at times.
I was disappointed that this model has the Micro-USB charging connector, as my previous phone had the USB-C connector, but this means I was able to dig out & reuse old Micro-USB cables. The particular phone I got was like-new & unlocked, so overall I think I got a great deal versus a brand new model.
