2" ATX Main 24-Pin to 6-Pin PSU Power Adapter Cable 18AWG for HP Z220/Z230

HP ProDesk 600 G1

This adapter works great, but causes a 515 Fan Error as it is... To make the HP computer boot without errors, you will need to alter the pin configuration to the following. (For reference purposes, The original 6 pin connector has pin 3 as a green wire.) PIN 1: Empty PIN 2: Red wire to CPU Fan TAC wire (See below for info) PIN 3: Green Wire PIN 4: Yellow Wire PIN 5: Empty PIN 6: Empty The alteration requires that you remove the black wire completely as it won't be used. Move the green, yellow, and red wires to the pins that are listed above. Cut the red wire near the 24 pin connector and splice it into the TAC wire of the CPU fan. In my HP, the TAC wire was gray. Look up "4 pin PWM fan pinout" for a diagram. It's the third wire after the ground and 12V wire. This mod will trick the computer into thinking that the CPU fan is your PSU fan. Now you can install any 24 pin PSU that you want!

Great quality... too many custom parts...

I’d love to give this 5 stars, but the oddball PSU configuration that makes it difficult to put in something stronger than 240w drops the rating. Now I have to find a 24 pin to HP adapter to power the GTX 1060 that’s going in. Other than that, this thing flies. It plays games very well in VR with a GTX 1050 ti.
